Background

A little more than 10 years ago, Mike was a member of the Finance Advisory board at the Texas A&M Mays Business School. During that time, he, along with the rest of the board, envisioned and began a class that would allow freshmen and sophomores to discover various career paths in the Finance field. I was a freshman at the time, and I was actually one of the earlier class attendees for what is today, Finance 210: Opportunities in Finance. Today, that class has grown from about 10 students to over 300 students a semester! (If you have an incoming freshmen to Texas A&M interested in the finance field, I’d highly recommend the class.)

The Bigger Picture

Every semester Mike and either Kanen, Mathew or I will kick off the guest speakers for the class. We speak on the global equity markets and emerging investment trends, risk and rewards of investing, the importance of compounding, but we conclude with what I believe to be the most important lesson - “The Bigger Picture” around work and life.

Find a group of people you like being around…

Because you will spend more time with them than your friends and family.

Don’t worry about what others are doing…

Each of us has our own skills, talents and calling. Do what you like to do and be content.

Use your business and skills to make a difference…

As you earn and grow, make sure you give back and get everyone in your company involved as well.

Michael Mulcahy, CFA®

Michael provides investment research and portfolio design to help clients set and achieve their financial goals. His investment research covers both public and private investments. Additionally, Michael assists clients with financial, philanthropic, and other special projects.

Michael has been at Kings Path since September 2018. Previously, he was a Senior Investment Analyst at Salient Partners where he researched investment opportunities in the high yield and leveraged credit space and assisted in the management of various value-oriented equity strategies. He also developed multiple valuation and bank compliance models throughout various corporate restructurings and capital market transactions.

While at Texas A&M University, he participated in the Business Honors program and Titans of Investing Program at Mays Business School and served on the executive team of Impact, a freshman orientation camp. Michael received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Honors and Finance from Texas A&M University, graduating cum laude. He is a CFA® charterholder.

Michael married his wonderful wife, Jordan, in the summer of 2019. Michael is a proud father of two daughters!
